Despite my better judgement, I decided to do check out modderfontein knowing full well it's been raining for about 2 weeks on and off, well it was properly muddy.

Thing is in sections if you get your line right then lekker, but if you get stuck, and I got stuck a good half the front wheel lodged in a few times, having to put your foot down into the squelch - mid shin deep and it stinks :(

Got all girly and bailed. Went for a quiet ride around the dam and on the tar instead

A couple of weeks ago a mate and I set off on an epic adventure. We didn't quite make our target, but had a fantastic day out nonetheless.

As always, the writing is so good, my legs feel totally shattered just from reading your report!

(I have been thinking of doing something like this........with the big difference being that I'll wait for a screaming Southeaster and then ride Northwards up the West Coast Road for as far and as fast as I can go. )

My bike took me around my farm, through the forest and through two lalies. I was too shattered to take any pics, but some of the residents of the second lalie had a good laugh at me lying on the side of the road recovering. Should have taken a pic of them :)

Joined a group for a nice sunset ride around park town/ emmerentia to howl at the moon.

I even got to test out my new light, those around me were grateful for it when we went around the lake in the dark

I dropped the oil burner for a service yesterday morning and rode the old Trance from Table View along the Cycle path, through Salt River, to Claremont. I learnt to respect those who commute against the Southeaster every day! It was bloody hard work getting the huge knobblies to roll, even though it was flat all the way. I gave up trying to hang with guys on road bikes after 2 attempts.
