It was a bit treacherous with the downhills in the forest due to the rain the previous day. Some of those sections had to be walked. ...... But definitely worth the R38

Harkerville Red Route

Nice one. I love that trail was fortunate enough to be there last week.

Haven't been to rietvlei in over a year. Decided to go have a go at all the things that used to scare me. I did drills, if i got it wrong turned around and kept at it until i got it right.

Have the scratches to prove it. But the rocks and roots are not as scary but i still suck at picking a line through the rocks and sticking to it.post-44041-0-03102700-1431168681_thumb.jpgpost-44041-0-09767300-1431173401_thumb.jpg

And a much earned cold beer afterwards.

amazing. ..... but those roots in the first few KM..... and that long descent. ...... .

I think it adds to the joy of riding indigenous forest trails. Also love how you're constantly working. This last ride I spotted a pair of Tauraco corythaix.
