Nongxwauses Pool has to be one of the best Xhosa stories of all time, pity most Xhosa's don't know it.

I don't know about being the best, but it is the most tragic, and a turning point in the Xhosa wars.

I managed to dig up Credo Vusimazulu Mutwa's books on the Bantu history, "Indaba My Children" and "Africa is my Witness". Worth a read for anyone interested in the Southern African oral history stories. Along with Peires' and Bekker's books

138km out south at a rustige pace. Almost all of it was in the small blade. Need more rides like this.

Some photos from my fellow club mates:

This morning I rode the "tunnel of light" to school with my two boys and then on to work. Great fun, I got there half frozen but oh so sharp! This pic was taken in Newlands along the Liesbeek River trail.

The farmers, and one wife (just wish her husband would join us too), took on the ride over the hills of Quanti/Bolo area today. Near the confluence of the Thomas River and the Great Kei. We had a great ride, but one of our number had to borrow a bakkie to get back home, his legs went :w00t:, so we got a lift too :whistling:
