Love the photo!

The X takes fantastic photos, I am very impressed with the results every time.

Hopefully when my upgrade is due (Note 10) I can start taking pictures of the Cannondale in action too.

Love those rollers there in the background

What a weird morning ride ...  :whistling:

Time for my Sunday morning solo ride.  Weather playing along nicely, so might as well do a lekker ride before coffee ....

12,6km and 220m elevation before getting to the trails ...

No wind, and the lightest of cloud cover as I head up into the trails.

Feeling good, I did the full loop of Meerendal (excluding Dorstberg), Stairway, Burry Stander, around the dam, around the vineyards, then the little section at the top of the vineyards before heading down to Carlucci for coffee ....

As the road dips down I am doing 20 to 25 km/h when I encounter a flock of guinea fowl .... two of them decide to run in front of the bike ..... eventually the one swerves to the right, the other staying just ahead of my front wheel .... next moment the one that swerved away picks up speed, starts flying and crashes into my helmet !    He lands, turns, RUNS, flies and crashes into my helmet again !!  By now his mate had turned off the road.  I give a few hard kicks and get out of there !!

Nothing like coffee to calm the nerves after a vicious attack on the trails ...

Nice ride back home.

Oooo .... and I even had a passenger on the way home .... Meerendal trails are badly overgrown !    Even got some twigs into the derailure ... hoping a home service sorts it out, or this little ride may end at Mark.  Back to the passenger ... tick on my leg ... Perfect time of the year to enjoy the trails, but always a good idea to check for ticks after the ride ....
