When I left home I told my wife I will be doing a "short ride" .... was still feeling the last two rides in my legs and sit bones ...  :whistling:

You know that feeling when the ride just feels "right" ...    So I kept on going, and going ....

Decided to try out Meerendal, hoping they had gotten around to some maintenance .... (NOTE - they insist on doing their own maintenance, so this is NO reflection on the club!!)  No way to enjoy the single tracks when it looks like this ...

Back on the road, and to the Protea Corridor gate .... and then I saw the NEW gate, to the extension of Protea Corridor, running next to Meerendal and North ....  This new section was BUSY !!!!

Turned into a 65km fun ride

I've been taken campers to their sites by bike, what a high pace ride it quickly turns into, about 900m in and another 900m out, sprinting, minimum 20 times today. While I take the one in I get radioed that there are others waiting.

Buffels turned out to be even muddier than my cradle excursion. They had some rain the afternoon prior to our ride, but sections of the trails were wet, properly

still ok here..

The “bushveld” is quite tropical at this stage...hot and humid

I really enjoy buffels, a challenge each time.

Today,

what started out as a recovery ride, ( this was day 4 of riding, up from 0 last month) soon became a sprint towards the end, to catch some e-bikers on the singletrack - childish, I know.
