Monday afternoon out on the trails ...

I decided to skip the "first weekend madness" .... seems many more had the same idea !!    Trails were busier on Monday afternoon than on some Saturday afternoons.  Very good vibe out on the trails

Only one spot of mud along B-Spot.  The rest of the trails are simply superb !!  No mud, no dust, simply the best time of the year.  Homerun is a "bit" corrugated at the moment .... or maybe it is just the rest of the trails that are in such perfect condition.

I am still getting used to the Blue Beast, and this was my first outing onto trails, A-frames, Lombards .... so I was taking it super careful.  What a ride  :w00t:

Then onto Traverse.  About 2km into Traverse I realised it was 17:23    I have been having such a lovely ride I had completely lost track of time ..... no choice but to use the "boost" button, you make up a LOT of time when you can climb those short sharp hills at 20km/h.  Got to the gate at 17:30 and a few seconds ...... struggled with the lock for a few minutes though, the numbers must line up "above" the mid-line ...    Make no mistake, when you ride an e-bike like this your hart rate is properly in zone 4, and still your knees are protected.

And then it dawned on me that I had some distance to cover before the 18:00 cut-off .... just kept it in zone 4, even a section of zone 5 enroute home .... when you realise you are on level road and a good few kilos above the assist level, then you know you are getting a decent workout.

My first impressions of the e-bike ....

- I LOVE it !

- You can idle along at the limiter speed, and smell the roses

- You can use boost levels if you want to ride without building up much of a sweat.

- You can also keep the assist level to "1" and ride just hard enough to keep to zone 3 or 4, depending how you want to workout

- And if you do get to a steep hill, you have the option of working as hard and as long as you want, and when you have to, you can start using boost levels to protect those old knees ...

- Be careful of those boost levels in a trail !!  You are very quickly going faster than what your skill levels may be able to cope with ...  :whistling: Even at the low setting on level ground you speed up very quickly .... I can see why some inexperienced riders get themselves into trouble ... you have to be more alert to your speed than on a normal MTB.

- took a while to get my rythm with A-frames.  The bike is heavy and loose a lot of speed on the way up, but you dont want to fly over it either ....

- Lombards Terra .... The Trance was just loving this section.  Pity the pilot was holding back ...  :whistling:

- Did I mention, I LOVE the Blue Beast
