If you have been to Merweville, then you have been on the road less traveled! Respect!

Edit: I lived there for a year or two as a toddler. My father was (briefly) a teacher there. Later, while in junior school in Prince Albert (in the "year beyond") we occasionally played rugby against Merweville. This was their field at its very best!

my bike took me from Conters parking to the bottom of the Cobra at Hoogekraal and no further. Bust deraileur. It was a long walk back, but luckily there are some good people in the world.

Thanks to Julian Louw's (Giant Durbanville) wife (sorry never got your name) who stopped at the 4-way stop at the bottom of Vissershok hill and piled me and my bike into her car and gave me a lift back to Conters.

Count yourself privileged. I've witnessed many folks depart from the bottom of the cobra courtesy of a AMS helicopter ride.

We love to plan our rides ...  then life happens and the day turns out even better than planned.

My work day ended on the other side of the mountain .... parked at Kelkiewyn in Villiersdorp, and set about to "ride around the dam".

I had barely turned the crank when I saw a Hub celebrity.

The ride around the dam was exactly what the doc ordered to clear my head .... the least battery I have ever used, and I was "moving" along at a decent pace :whistling:

The new grass was playing against the very late autumn colours.  Absolute visual feast !!

Just outside Villiersdorp I met up with our local celeb ...

They recycle pods? One hopes so as pod recycling is currently at ridiculously low single-digit-percentage levels. Excuse me, the old git will see himself out.
