I can't believe I've never before been up the climb on the right of Plaisir. It's the first ever climb I have enjoyed.

Real friends first takes a photo then askes if your bike is OK and then helps you up 😂

Some nice views; hope the bike is okay 😊

Bike is perfect, I am a pro at falling without damaging my bike 🤣

Yes on days and trails like these that I wish I had my gopro just to take it in again. That climb is 90% in the forest, following the water so beautiful and technical enough to keep it interesting without killing yourself 👌🏻👌🏻

Taking the Santa Cruz Heckler SL out for its first proper spin. The hype is real, what a fantastic piece of kit, much more aggressive down hill than my 2023 heckler and so much more playful with the 27.5” back wheel. SRAM GX T-Type is superb on this bike, wouldn’t bother jumping up to XO or XX. The jury is out on the new Lyne components e-contour post which had multiple pairing issues in the first 20km and then the battery died in the post to the point where the “emergency assist” button didn’t work. Hoping this is just a teething issue.

Beoootiful steed and I am envious so little sympathy about battery issues (not really; it is deep disappointment when such a gem threatens to let you down - hoped it gets sorted). Harden up man 🤬

I cycled down the road heading Melkbos way, but then I took a left rather than the usual right heading to town via the west coast cycle path and the N1 ( which was super stressful when a container truck passed me with less than 1m of separation), and found myself at the top of Suikerbossie.

The waves looked good enough to go for a swim.
