Ahn8 don't have mine yet and my entry is not up on racetec.... Sure signs that the committee is having a heated debate on where mamils should start ....

Did you enter for the Tour de PPA?

If you have, your seeding will only be sent out afterwards.

"Most race numbers have already been allocated. However, certain entrants will not be receiving their seeding just yet. These include:

  • Recent entrants (after 27 January) and substitutions
  • Some riders who participated in the 99er (expect your seeding next week)
  • Entrants also participating in the Ride for Sight or Tour de PPA who still have a chance to improve their seeding (expect your seeding the week following the event)
  • Elite men, Elite women and U17 boys
  • People with an existing seeding query that have not yet been completed"

2A for me.
after having heart surgery 9 months ago and not being allowed to do bugger all exercise for what felt like forever and then only able to do light stuff and eventually building up to max for the last 2 months, I have done zero races since April and for the first time in 34 years I will not be “racing”, I have decided to just cruise and aim purely for a comfortable finish. Had a check up with the cardiologist today and got the go ahead to ride.

sheez, all the best. at least you're back on the bike.

Have a lekker ride

How old were you when you did it on the MTB? I want to do it but I only have a MTB so I don't really have a choice, is it worth it if MTB is your only option?

Edit: Should add that it is a XC hardtail, wouldn't dare trying it on anything else

I was 38 and only had about 6 months cycling under the belt - Fat, unfit and a big consumer of Captain Morgan. I think that was 90% of the struggle.

Back then MTB was only begining to become a thing. I hade a 26" steel frame GIANT ACAPULCO hard tail. Thought i was the bees knees on that bike, even had the leather strap toe clips riding in Tekkies, I did put on road tyres though, which was a big help.

My 2nd Argus was on my first road bike and my time improved by 1.5 hrs i was a but lighter and fitter but the bike is what made the most difference

Back then the struggle was 26" wheels with MTB gearing, you couldnt get your rolling speed up unless you were seriously fit and strong - You never found a rider on a MTB hanging with a group of roadies like you do today, but even on a 29er with road tyres and cleats you still need to be seriously strong to do that - Its all about gearing just not suitable for road racing.

Today lots of people do it on a MTB so i wouldnt be that concerned, just go out and have a jol and dont expect to do any Sub 3's

@ChrisF you do get two raceboards yes! Two timing boards one front and one back to register for each riders time (which is obviously the same) and two of those small numbers for the handlebars. Last year my time didn't register, but after query I got awarded my stokers, a.k.a the misses, time. Bonus, you even get two of the amazing racepacks. We didn't know wat to do with all the goodies last year. 🤣 6th Argus this year, 3rd on the Tandem with my wife. Not divorced yet, but I know we will be asked that question about 200 times during our 4 hour Cruise. And yes. I know she isn't really pedaling.
