Just a thought.  Would PPA start a collection in order to pay a private security company to go and get these mother suckers (I would prefer they get moered then arrested) They would know or can let us know what the options or outcome could possibly be. I don't mind donating to such a cause.

i see this has been suggested on Facebook as well, apparently they are looking into it!

Just image if 1000 hubbers put in R15 a month into a fund to put a security company on the spot/s patrolling in those problem areas until the situation is resolved.

I live in Durbs but I'd contribute...or maybe with every sale in bikehub, R5 is contributed to this fund.

(PS: we could apply same for other problem areas countrywide - this could be kinda revolutionary, just like a bicycle wheel..ha ha)

(Also posted on the CapeTown dangerous areas post)

Just keep in mind that the land these criminals are staying on does not belong to COCT, but Prasa and Transnet. COCT does not have jurisdiction there.

The Ministry of Transport / Minister Barbra Creecy is the dept in control of those parcels of land. So rather bombard her and her office with mails, as ultimately the buck stops with her.

So Barbra Creecy is harboring criminals? Is it possible to lay a charge or complaint with SAPS against the minister. Just asking not sure if it is even an option.

LOL..... When you put it like that, yes.

Nope, it won't be an option, I think.

Where is PRASA protection services? They should be raiding those shacks daily or atleast be patrolling the land in that area  together with SAPS They were granted the similar powers as the police.

Snip PRASA Web:

PRASA’s Protection Services Officers have been declared Peace Officers as per Section 334 of the Criminal Procedures Act, giving them law enforcement powers similar to those of Police Officers.
