ChrisF Posted February 13, 2021 Share Nice early start .... Need to be alert of the trail conditions in the rising sun .... Coffee at Dairy Shed ... and up and up and up .... WOW !! Trails was super busy .... 4 riders catching up to me, with another four ahead of me ..... A racing snake in the following group came charging past on the grass ... Catching up with two riders past the first mast ..... Time to cool down just a bit after all that climbing, while enjoying the single track .... BIG thanks to Patrick and his teams !!! They certainly are catching up with the trail maintenance, much appreciated. JohanDiv, DJR, Long Wheel Base and 7 others
capediver Posted February 13, 2021 Share The electric storm over the Tanķwa yesterday. It was magnificent. I just skipped to the side of it. Perfect sunrise this morning to start drying it up!#bucketlist fanievb, Jakkals. and Eddy Gordo

RocknRolla Posted February 14, 2021 Share Rode the cradle MTB for the first time in a very long while. overcast, warm and humid. The moisture was visible in the air the whole day. decided to stop for a photo while waiting for the missusand there was an “obstruction” then on to the usual post to post a photo... just before this stop as I was going up the track, I had to take some evasive action so not to ride over a baby puffy crossing the track...as I came closer, it contracted, ready to strike, and luckily I missed it somehow. Pulled the brakes and went back to snap a photo, but the puffy was already 90% into the grass with only its tail visible for a split second..got the HR up a little Edited February 14, 2021 by RocknRolla Jakkals., MrJacques, WrightJnr and 7 others
RocknRolla Posted February 14, 2021 Share As for the state of the cradle trail, there are one or two surprises where the usual easy rolling trail has now changed to some eroded sections where one has to be awake and confident, else it may end in tears and hospitals.the section from the circle on Beyers towards valverde, is very eroded, and needs concentration to pick the correct line. Go in too fast, and it will be a disaster. The amount of rain we have had the last month or two has been quite destructive, on some sections. Kranswurm Posted February 14, 2021 Share They say "its better when wet"IMG_20210214_072818.jpgLol...the last time I had lunch there we sat outside and were treated to a perfect raid on the kitchen by the local hooligans. Executed with military precision including the mock attacks they got away with a number of loaves.I love them. Bateleur1

Man over that distance an MTB is hard work. But I wanted the disc brakes for the wet weather. Now contemplating if I should do a front disc brake conversion on the road bike Edited February 14, 2021 by Eddy Gordo

So we cut it short with a lekker climb and some high speed descent and sharp corners
Jack and Gill Posted February 14, 2021 Share Wartburg to Mfula Store down the Mqeku River. The Mqeku starts near Harburg and joins the Umgeni River about 8km up river of Inanda Dam. Some seriously steep ups and downs, it’s not called the Valley of 1000 hills for nothing. WrightJnr, fanievb, shova1 and 17 others
