The amount of cyclists I see who clearly have no idea about the simplest little things like cornering with their inside foot down it's a surprise to me that this type of thing doesn't happen more often.
Don’t your mean the opposite , other wise you get peddle strike
Hi Guys.
So unfortunately cannot share VN's on here. He was riding with my mates group, they left Chappies about 2mins after us. In a nutshell, he overcooked the corner and went over the edge. His mates never saw it happen as the 1 was already through the overhanging section and the others hadn't left the top yet. They continued to roll down and stopped in Noordhoek waiting for him, they were confused as the 1st guy said he never came past and the others said they never went past him, while waiting He called them to tell them that he had gone over the edge and they must please come back, There was No car involved, this is from his and his mates mouths directly. Simple rider error. Only injured wrist and bike has a small scratch near the seat tube. Paramedics who rescued him said he was extremely lucky as he stopped on a flat section, 1 meter further he would've been completely over the cliffs edge. I have the VNs from my mate in their group if anyone wants them.
Looking at the size of that saddle bag ..... I think there was a cross wind involved [emoji6]
Last line of the picNo, unfortunately you are incorrect.
the allowance of only 'one device per 12 months' is the old Device Booster benefit. The new Vitality Active Gear benefit replaces that, it went live 2 days ago.
50 % plus active Nike gear and device all come from same pot of 6k for the 12 months
Sportsmas total sports is 25 % off a month of 2k . Preferred the old discount from sportsman's since I use to get 45% off per month
Perhaps we talking past each other.
Yes there is a spilt as you mentioned above, but you can generate discounts to the value of R6k in a year, max, however you split it.
Eg:
Device at R4k, minus 50% qualifying discount = R2k saving (then do this another 2 times in the same year = R6k max saving)
They only allow you do use device discount once every 12 rolling month cycle . So in your example per say , one would only have 2k left in the 12 month window
Discovery is very sneaky with T&C ,. To maximise with them one really needs to make sure we understand usage policy correctly
You do know that's not how it works right ?Yup, R6 000 worth of discounts.
So if you assume a qualifying 50%, That's R12 000 worth of spend
6000 total for 12 months
4k for a device eg 50% off you pay 2k
There is a breakdown of the 6k and how it can be split up on devices or footwear or clothing
As bleak as you may be, allow me to cheer you up.
One of the BIGGEST improvements here is that you can generate a voucher (55% discount in your case) EVERY.SINGLE.MONTH
I feel like even non-bank clients are benefitting massively when compared against the old HealthyGear benefit.
Check the T&C , there is a annual limit over a rolling 12 month window
No it hasn't , I still do it with the Samsung health app sometimes [emoji6]I know someone who has already tested, Garmin chest strap I think it was, started a workout, got his HR up to 80% in like 2 min, took it off and sat down with a beer.
Apparently because it had no data, it assumed your HR never changed so you maintained the 80% avg for the 30 minutes that he let the workout run for, and got his 300.
I presume by now that’s been fixed.
I don't use it for points so have no idea how it works ,. But it's an option I guessFrom my understanding you then have to then start and stop your ride from the strava app, not from a third party app linked to strava, but i could be wrong?
you can link strava direct to discovery for points nowAnd linking to Strava does not earn points, correct?
This is a bit of a slippery line to be on.
I previously sold Volvo. Elsewhere they would be priced alongside the like of BMW and Merc, but for market penetration in SA they were priced cheaper. The end result is that people did not see them in the same class and thought they should be much cheaper than what they were.
The flip side is it did work to some extent in term of market penetration, as a cheaper price with more extras those that did by saw the bargain. And more product in the market = more interest in the product.
So what you saying is ....
He should sell us the bike for 50k , too create market penetration and interest [emoji6]
Think he was very lucky .I just saw Simon Carr's crash at Pairs Nice! Holy sheebles that looked proper serious. How the hell did he get up and finish the stage? That was brutal to watch.
since the pole shifted back on contact , otherwise he would have got seriously injured .

Saw that now , force was dissipated into the sign
Also the most difficult/dangerous way to fly a chopper ...This is probably a bit easier way to do it...
https://www.lockheedmartin.com/en-us/products/sikorsky-firehawk.html
Massive respect to those pilots, I thinks it’s difficult enough flying a helicopter without smoke, heat and a 4000 kg pendulum hanging below.
Low and slow
They have changed the way they repost from people's IG accounts over the last few days .....a little more demographicThat was quick.
Cycling on Voortrekker is a no go in my opinion , best would be Thornton- Pinelands
Do you just jinx yourself by saying he got jinxed [emoji6]Years ago a uni lecturer taught us one valuable lesson that 'there is no such thing as s free lunch'
looks like that's exactly what you got though... nicely done
Everyone pack an umbrella in the car [emoji6]yebbo.
I had someone asking about why I left the gazebo off the packing list.
Told him he's welcome to deploy it wen we get to the feedzone but then he's packing it away too.
Tjoepstil
This i what concerns me. Should I be using my old bike rather ?
bull**** go out and drop everyone [emoji48][emoji6]Most of the time you're gonna come off if you push your limits too far too soon. This kind of racing is a skill that you can learn, and good bike handling will help you when commuting or racing or whatever. Don't try and stay with the front guys if you feel you are on the ragged edge. Rather drop back and work on your skill then you'll be fine when that catches up with your performance.
I assume some of the guys at the pointy end will, like me, have grown up racing this kind of thing and racing on the track so it's second nature for us.
T&C : not responsible for any injuries that may occur if doing the above
