  1. Had a nice spin with my nephews at Modderfontien today, really proud of how well they did
  2. Were you at Wolwespruit yesterday? Wearing yellow and black kit?
  3. It can work, if you are disciplined, my wife works with a dietitian and got some advice from her, she has always struggled to lose weight, since trying the plan she has lost 3kg in 3 weeks
  4. Late afternoon at Wolwespruit
  5. Down to 98.7kg, right on track for my goal weight for the year ????????????
  6. The GIRO Fixture with MIPS is a decent helmet and wont break the bank
  7. People are strange things, I am a fat, unfit weekend hacker, my previous bike was 11 speed with a 10-42 cassette and 30T chainring, I never felt I needed more climbing gears, in fact I swore outright to my riding buddies that it is more than adequate, fast forward a bit and I now have a 12 speed with 10-51 cassette and a 32T chainring, at first I deliberately did not go to the biggest gear, because I had a point to prove, but then one day I tried it, and it changed my life, now I use it all the time, can climb for longer, and faster than before. You may not NEED those climbing gears, but sheesh, they are AWESOME to have
  8. 900m is plenty, my favourite trail here has a 1000m flow line, and my legs are begging me to stop after I am only half way through
  9. Agreed, you do get them, but at what cost? I will be honest, I haven't been into a bike shop in well over a year, just went online to one of the decent online stores, seems their prices have come down actually, I might "need" some new gloves ????

    Pyga Hyrax

Same with me, that place is tough, it's ***, but lekker... it's *** lekker....
  11. I ride with MX gloves in winter, but they are to thick in the summer, at least to me, they make your hands really hot, but they are awesome if you fall, and are really durable, my 2 pairs of "cycling" gloves have not even lasted 6 months and they are falling apart were my MX gloves are probably 4 years old and still going strong

He rode Thaba on his dualie
  13. Happy to see there is still lots of wildlife at Modderfontien, cant really see them in the picture, but there were lots of Zebra, Wildebeest, Impala or Springbok and some other buck I couldn't identify
  14. Well then dont switch the Ebike on when riding with that group, the extra weight and resistance will even out the discrepancy and give you a better workout as well, two birds, one stone and all that
  15. My one was named GoldMember
  16. So worth an "upgrade" then?
  17. You have to scroll to the bottom of the page and select the desktop version of the site
  18. Just want to hijack the thread quick... I have WTB I29 ST wheels on Shimano MT400 and MT510 hubs, would that Stans+ Hope be worthwhile? Or would I just be spending money needlessly?
  19. Try Decathlon, they have MTB Baggies at a reasonable price, also, I think FOX has some shorts on sale at the moment, may be worth looking at. I tried board shorts for a while, but they were to slippery. For shirts, I get Mr Price Drisomethingorother shirts, cheap, light, and dry quickly. When it is cold I use my old MX jerseys, gloves and knee brace socks, I look like a proper ****, but it is warm and comfortable
  20. Congratulations dude, you are going to love it!
  21. Wayne at Rapide trued my wheels for me for R90 a wheel
  22. The 2020 FS1 comes with a Pike, not the Revelation, so it is even better value! I have not needed any spares for my bike as yet, but I doubt it will be a problem, I am seeing more and more Norco's out and about, so I think the brand is growing nicely, so I dont think parts will be a problem
  23. I have the Fluid FS1, I was looking for a Trance before I got the Norco, but the Norco spec is a fair bit better, and it is cheaper from what I recall, I am 1.83 and 100kg, couldn't be happier. I could maybe meet you at Wolwespruit or Red Barn on the weekend and you can take it for a bit of a spin
  24. Not 100% sure on the model, but they are Shimano hubs
