as a resident of the estate in Melkbos, it is a bit of a clusterfck exiting the estate onto the beach road on a busy weekend morning. The only way to get accross is to inch into the cycle lane so that you can actually see the oncoming traffic. If you stop behind the STOP line you can't see much. And then when you inch accross the cyclists ride around the front of your car. There is no way of getting out there without everyone (cyclists Included) having a bit of patience

If you leave at 5am and only ride for 6 to 8 hours, what do you do for the rest of the day? Drink beer. Obviously.
I'd have thought you ride, stop for lunch, have a nap under a tree, get to your destination at like 4pm, shower, eat, snooze, then go again?
It's a bike tour, I'd expect to be on the bike most of the time, unless you book in for lunch time wine tasting along the way
Ryder.
Local brand. Well priced. Last forever
how do you make a million from farming?

well yes the Hub is a bit dull these days.
I was going to comment on the Wine2Whales thread about mountain bikers drinking Pinot Noir but then realised it's not Friday yet....
I'm in love...

Hardly a slam dunk either way. But it does look very dodge to be chasing after teenage girls in your boxer shorts...
But, I'm not about the Cancel MvdP because of this.

used to need a license for your dog as well. a similar tag which needed to be on the dog's collar

We have a 21 yr old nephew who is studying/work experiencing in Cape Town at the moment. He's a well bought up, polite and considerate young man who would never hurt anyone. He was attacked walking to work early the other morning. They sliced through his chest, lung, diaphragm and spleen - cutting him from his upper chest down to his lower stomach. Stole his almost empty wallet and left him for dead. He managed to crawl for help. Someone found him and he was rushed to hospital. They removed his spleen but managed to save his lung and repair his diaphragm. yesterday he came off of his morphine drip and hopefully in a few days he'll be able to leave hospital and go home for a long period of rest and recovery.
Sheesh! Where did this happen?

It was quite a process. took about an hour to get 3 bikes accross
First time in a while that I've watched TDF sort of on a daily basis (highlights at night). I'm not sure what you guys think but the commentators are very meh. That Irish 2IC guy has the personality of a flat tyre. I miss Phil Ligget.

Also, I'm pretty stoked that in a sea of middle class white dudes, Omphile has travelled the second furthest distance and is still positive AF? Awesome!
Harris mom got ill and Woolnough fell and injured himself. I think that's what I heard
There is some gravel between Arniston and Struisbaai towards Die Mond area. Not a hell of a lot but it's there. Also from Struisbaai towards Elim - there is quite a lot of gravel.
There are also trails around Bredasdorp but I'm not familiar with those
Here is the Wiki bio of the real Clark. What a wild life

reading all this k@k I'm surprised you don't have to 'tree aan' in your step-outs before each ride.
After getting your permit, can you still access via the small access boom on the Melkbos/VanRiebeekstrand side or do you have to go in via main gate?
