  1. It is actually easy, remove your old rimstrip it makes the layers to thick that is on the rim and the tyre may not seat properly. Clean the rim properly using spirits or clean green, disc brake cleaner works best, and leave it to dry properly. Now tape the rim, you need to pull hard on the tape trying to stretch(you wont) but that is the technique you need to use, two full loops will be enough. Now make a small hole were the valve is going to go through with a sharp object like a els or so. put on the rim strip ensuring that it cover the width of the rim. Put the tyre on with sealant in it, especially if you are not running UST tyres and inflate with a compressor. If you struggle to inflate it remove the core. Pump it up hard the first time and go ride. You should be fine Hope this all makes sense
  2. You can get adapters for any crank these days even BB30 and they are not nearly as heavy as they use to be
  3. I have a GT cyclocross bike with Sram Rival groupset which I commute with, love the geometry of the bike

  6. I am a cyclist not an MTB rider or Roadie, but a cyclist. Why is their always a split, their is more than enough space for both disciplines and although I am not nearly as quick on my mtb(technical skills are getting their) as my road bike I enjoy both. To me it is my sport so yes I have training programs and I am starting to get obsessed with watts but once a week I leave all my gadgets at home and just go and ride. The main problem why and I can get flamed for this that road cycling has gotten smaller over the years is bike shops! Maintenance on a road bike is minimal so how did bike shops survive? Simple their were very few of them, once mountain biking started to grow the owners immediately started seeing that their is huge potential in rather punting mtb sales than roadbikes as his after sales margins would look better. Its not about safety and that roadies get hit more by cars etc. that is a myth and people believe it, I now what routes one can ride safely both mountain bike and road bike wise and I stick to them! Cyclist FOREVER

  14. I just finished studying full time(BSc Quantity Surveying) where I had classes everyday and also had one **** load of projects throughout the course. I had a part time job at a bike shop close to campus, where instead of lazing around under trees and on campus like most students do between periods I went and worked. Weekends I also worked including holidays, no December holidays as well as I worked through. I had a hectic schedule but I made it work, made time for my studies and could train and race once a month. Oh and my social life was not great but ok. Now I finished studying full time, have a day job and I am busy completing my honors. Don't give me that bullsh1t story of no time at varsity its about your priorities!
  15. I had a coach/biokenetisist do my total program for me, train with watts now its the best possible way to train as your HR may not be reflecting your true work rate

  18. Be aware guys check their coverage first, know of two of my friends with this package that are not covered in their area for the fastest speed and now have to browse on edge...........they would have been better going with another service provider
  19. Basically rule of thumb is if you take a straight line from the top of your seat to over your handle bar it should not be more than 9cm height difference. A lot of the pro cyclists ride with differences up to 14cm, but that is very aggressive My friend is 1.83m tall and rides a 56 but reckons he has ridden on 54's and it worked for him but it depends on your in seam height
  20. Not a Contador fan at all and what happened to him on Saturday was unfortunate but its to his own account with bad placing in the bunch. Still their is three weeks to go and he won't give up as it may be his last TdF with the court case against him scheduled for August
