Much like the leatherman lifetime warrenty these days. also because of people abusing the system

this, i think this was exactly what probably killed NavWorld. Their "Core Exchange" programme as they called was used and abused far too often in the end it seems that's all the were doing...

I've been on a garmin since forever... can't see myself moving away from it... 705 which i had replaced by NavWorld for a 800 which i sold for a 520 which i had replaced by NavWorld for another 520 which i sold for a 820 (i hated the touch screen) which i sold for a 130 plus (my favorite device) which i sold for a new 530 (bought off bikehub) been about a year now, and no issues to date.

  2. I had the same or similar mine was only at very low speed and high brake power so steeps basically, ended up facing the frame and brake adaptor a bit... both on my commencal meta am ht (now stolen) and on my ns bikes eccentric steel ht...

It's worked on both... It may be a little tolerance that's not right I'd also suggest asking a mate if you can swop the entire brake...

Bikepacking trip through what's known as the Rainbow Road on South Island NZ. One hill got to 13% and it was hike-a-bike time! Then from St Arnaud to Blenheim on tar and then back down the Molesworth Road home. Freaking amazing!

    is NZ now home?

Just a head's up (which might be a bit late) but on returning to SA from an overseas trip last year with my bike in a cardboard box, I was asked if it was new and (on telling them it wasn't) was asked why i didn't declare it on the way out. I was then told that unless I was able to provide a receipt I would be required to pay import duties. I was able to show the receipt (emailed to me as part of the purchase) and I was good to go. So just something to keep in mind. Basically you may be asked to prove that you didn't buy your bike on your trip, although I suspect having a mine in a big branded cardboard box didn't do me any favours.

    Enjoy the trip.

i had the same when i returned from Switzerland, eventually i made it uncomfortable for the customs guys telling them nobody informed me about declaring my bike when i left... atleast i was trying my luck and got away with it... but yes i wont go through again and just declare my bike as my bike if and when i do get to go over again...

We push some changes to the site this morning including a Coffee category in Classifieds: https://bikehub.co.za/classifieds/c/coffee

The relationship between cycling and coffee is very important for many cyclists (see this thread as proof), so we thought we'd create a trading home for that passion.

haha nice, was thinking the other day about contacting @Grebel if he's still around about making me another tamper... absolutely love mine, but i would like to size it up a bit after changing my machines

he's last online data was last year August so hopeful

I have GCN on my phone, tablet, media box, PC etc etc- wherever whenever I can watch cycling. Unlike DSTV that allows streaming to ONE device only (DSTV IS NOT WORTH IT)

So with the GCN subscription you can watch on multiple devices?

I watched the end of the race yesterday on tiz cycling frustrating to say with all the disconnects... I already have the VPN setup going... I just don't watch enough to justify mind you the monthly fee might work, @babse what you say?

Im 100% sure they are real, but also 100% sure they are factory rejects!

We've had 2 lose their ears completely, not broken off, just off... but this is out of about 12 sets.

Other than that, a few little blemishes like the weird colours in the ceramic etc..

Good to see you still around hope all is well!!

Must send us some of new beans if you've got any, me and @babse would be keen

    OP no offence meant here

But are we seriously going to go through every damn part of the cycling experience and complain about how expensive it is ?

if you find yourself calculating how many km/rand you're getting out of your kit just quit the sport

I honestly can't understand this much thinking that has to go into recreation.

    peace ✌️

don't worry, when you started out here on bikehub we had to endure the same... 😅

let the op be, opening reading and responding to every topic is not necessarily necessary, unless you DieselnDust or Jewbecca

Ai man, that is not lekker to hear. I have to ask though, who is David Garret?

well known local cyclist with a decent pedigree. he's won a number of races primarily on the road and still features currently in his age category...

in other words not someone you'll necessarily find on google but more a "if you know you know"
