If I was the company commander staring that down...from brand new troopies nogal ... eish that is tradition and culture right there.

All the above led me to this. Which it turns out is very interesting, especially in a military context, where the public do not get involved.

 

However, at the end of the clip, members of the audience respond to the haka challenge, to which every stays still till it is over, including the NCO's who performed the haka with the troops. This is a great understanding of how culture plays a role in military life. After the haka is finished military decorum takes over the the troops go back to line.

 

Pretty darn cool.
