:D That was me yesterday :D

And, as luck would have it, my commute home was just as interesting.

I knew that I was in for an exciting ride home as I took my bibs off the coat hanger, only to feel that they hadn't dried a single bit! The only thing worse than wriggling into cold soggy bibs, is putting on a cold soggy heart rate strap, followed by a cold soggy cycling top. Thankfully, my socks were dry, as I'd worn them all day (although I suspect something nasty is probably going to grow out of my shoes in the coming weeks!)

I thought a howling South Easter was going to be my biggest problem of the ride. One of those breezes that if you don't pedal on the downhills, you stop moving. As I got closer to the Helderberg mountain, the sky started to get grey and icky again. I thought the rain was going to be the worst part of the ride, but since I was already mostly soggy, it wasn't. That special award, once again, for the 2343rd day in a row, goes to a motorist. One of those motorists that hold the mistaken belief that only cars should be on the roads, and that anything else is an annoyance and a hindrance.

Aaah - the joys of commuting...

Had my worst commute today: bakkie with a long trailer passes within 70cm from me. Bloke stops to pick up workers & i tell him that he can maar pass just a little wider. (There was lots of space & i wasn't agro). Apparently I must watch out as Trump will grab me...

Then a mx rider rode on the trail between Coetzenburg and g spot. These guys f up g spot often, so i politely tell him that the trails are off limits to bikes. In the end i told him that ignorance of the law is no excuse. Ugggh. And to top it all, i had NO flow down gspot.

And still .... an BAD day on the bike still beats a good day stuck in traffic in a car ...

Bellville Central. Straightline along jip de jager.

Over the Welgemoed climb as well? Do you particularly like to do climbs on your commute or do you just not know better?

Also commute to the Bellville Central area from D'ville but I skip that Welgemoed climb by going through the park/trail behind Door de Kraal dam, CWC and through the Tyger Waterfront area.

also do not mind the wind in the mornings, but in the evening it had better be a tail wind so that I can get home to eat!

In #Slummies the problem is the wind is sw in the morning and ne in the afternoon.

Headwind both ways.

Is anyone maybe commuting to Tygervalley Shopping Centre? Starting my new job at Computer Mania and as far as I know, there isn't space for my bike in-store but will confirm tomorrow again.

I tried calling the centre management to confirm a secure parking place but sadly they could not assist me.

Not sure if securing it in the underground parking with two locks would do the trick.
