We push some changes to the site this morning including a Coffee category in Classifieds: https://bikehub.co.za/classifieds/c/coffee

The relationship between cycling and coffee is very important for many cyclists (see this thread as proof), so we thought we'd create a trading home for that passion.

haha nice, was thinking the other day about contacting @Grebel if he's still around about making me another tamper... absolutely love mine, but i would like to size it up a bit after changing my machines

he's last online data was last year August so hopeful

Good morning everyone, so I am looking to attempt learnig this coffee thing, I have found a Breville Barista Express, from what I have learned so far, they are a good machine to start learning on, it is a used machine, so would just like to see if anyone can give me a heads up on things to look out for? Also, the portafilter is missing, are they easily attainable at a reasonable price?

Thanks in advance for any tips and advice.

Just buy an aftermarket naked portafilter, I’m sure one of the online coffee shops stock them, just make sure that it is the right size.

I started off with a barista express, it’s a good little machine for the money. The grinder struggles a bit though, especially with certain beans.

Howsit. Anyone bought from https://onlinecoffeeshop.co.za based in Cape Town? Says they don't have stock or a showroom at their offices. I'm looking to get a Gaggia Classic as they have the best price so far. They have reviews on My Broadband from 2 years ago.

Contact Zaakir, he's helped a few hubbers in the past... Some reviews maybe 3-4 pages back on this thread

I slipped and fell on my keyboard the other day and then next thing I had a new coffee machine 😱
(Supplier is still waiting for the grinders to arrive)

Rancilio Silvia Pro X Black & Rancilio Stile Black | Caffè Italia

This means that I need to sell my current set-up to make space.
Rancilio Silvia V5 with PID (pre infusion)
Rancilio Rocky

As soon as I get the new grinder, I will send them to the agent for a clean and service and then put them up for sale.

Bought a bottomless portafilter for my Gaggia from them. Had great service. Doesn't come with a basket, but they found a triple basket in there storeroom and threw it in for me. Drop them a mail.

Is your current setup (the one for sale) the silvia V5 PID and rancillio.

If it is please let me know, I have a buyer for it!
