I replaced the stock Shimano RS10's, so the jump up is pretty significant and in all fairness, those rims served me well (over 7,500 km). And I was using 23mm Gatorskins (wire bead).

Nevertheless, these wider tyres roll amazingly and feel so smooth (probably the new hubs/bearings) and are so much more comfortable (~90psi vs ~110psi).

Stoked!

Ordered from CRC, took less than 15 working days (free shipping).

Have my LG 5 now for two years.  7000 km on them and love the way they roll.

That's good to know!

I spent ages deciding on a wheelset, as there are so many to choose from each with their own pros and cons. So far, so good.

Window shopping is a bad thing!

Accompanied my wife MTB shopping over the weekend. Walked into the local Giant dealer and while walking around heard the assistants discussing their performance bike sale, starting the next day. The short; 25% off all Trance, Reign and Anthem's as well as the equivalent in the Liv brand.

Needless to say, window shopping quickly changed to swiping plastic for both of us.

I picked up the 2017 Giant Anthem 1 (650b).

  • Full aluminium
  • Full XT 1x11
  • Carbon rims with boost spacing front and rear
  • Fox 34 performance elite 120 mm fork and EVOL metric shock 110 mm.
  • Dropper seat post

The guys also added all new accessories at the 25% discount with free tubeless conversion. I picked up a Giro Hex helmet and matching bottle cage.

All in, $3,875.

Not a purchase but definitely worth a boast. I know someone that knows someone. Only costs me a tubeless conversion.

Did they machine those themselves? you going to use a threaded bar and nuts to do the pressing?
