I agree , now lets see how you going to feel if somebody steals something from you that you have put a lot of effort into . But wait they not just stealing from you , they also stealing from the people that depend on you !! OMG .

Are you sure something was stolen? Let them post the contract here then we can decide.

Not sure of all the details in this matter but this is why protecting your cycle/event races name by means of a trade mark is important, this is what i specialize in.

TMs / Copy Rights are easy to register, I have a few, but it's enforcing them that's takes the Benjies. Couple of days in court costs a lot of money!!

ps my MULTIQUOTE NOT WORKING

I doubt it very much that either you or me are qualified to look at a contract and make that type of call . Anyway I just call it stolen , legaly they did not steal anything , they just took it . Very much like the govermunt !

And many have.

But by saying you will support an online vendor, in any industry (not just cycling) is that they earned your support.

It clearly highlights one common trend, that price is the only thing that motivates people, not service, relationship or anything else, seeing that online vendors are earning support based on price.

A customer you win on price - You will lose on price...

For me - the price is a big factor, but I will gladly pay more (Within reason) for good service.

ok, so this is basically a falling out of a partnership. the original agreement for ASG to manage the race should have stipulated that the race still belongs to the club.

Yawn, is this 2006?

If there is a value add from the LBS, then their support is justified.

If they are just selling widgets, then whoever has the cheapest price/most efficient form of distribution wins.

The funny thing is that many people support CRC because there service is EXCELLENT.

Don't care much for development teams how about putting food on the table for the children's home? Rather 65k in meals than 5 bikes and some kit.

Narrow minded thinking. The children's home is taken care of on basic level by donations from public and other organisations etc. If someone is prepared to take care of these kids' needs other than that, let them.

Why can't a children's home have extracurricular activities? It makes for a well balanced individual.

I buy any and all Colnago steeds through Maestro UK and this is based on the knowledge, service level and non quibble b0llocks that I get from the owner Mike Perry. It is better than dare I say that what I got from the Idol, God rest his soul. I find a lot of LBS' will order something (i.e.not on the shelves) for me which pretty means I can do it myself. As for other industries a recent experience way trying to get a Kindle Paperwhite from my down the road lekka South African Dion Wired!! I went there because they claim to sell it and I was prepared to pay extra to have it immediately. The result? Well..sir...you see...oops ...we dont have stock...oops...we can order it for you!! (See a pattern?) Oh and I would have to wait around 2 weeks for the pleasure of paying premium. Problem was solved by ordering from Amazon in the US on a Monday afternooon and it was to be found on my desk that Thursday....and cheaper. Hence for earlier comment about earning my cash and not expecting it.

From what I have seen, ASG (along with Chris Willemse) have done more for SA cycling that any other importer/distributor.

Just look at the amount of sponsored riders out there with ASG kit, especially the juniors.

I will make every effort possible to support ASG (I just wish I could afford a Pinarello)

This thread has the word "sour grapes" written all over it.

I've been to a few homes in my lifetime, but thanks for the offer.

I am sure a lot of homes battle to stay afloat and conditions are dire. We're talking specific jacaranda home. You've been?
