round and round and round, what ever happened to AGREE TO DISAGREE AND MOVE ON

seriously i am curious everyone thinks they right(cant be) this issue has now basically been spread from locked thread to locked thread to effecting the HUB AS A WHOLE,,

REALLY we all here(mostly) because we love cycling in the real world i am sure we would 90% all get along since we got the same passion

so surely we can start chirping chatting on a lighter mood/topic

When last did you ride your bike :whistling: (too soon?)

Seriously though, I agree... but I am also tired of people dumping their permanent PMS bombs all over this place

If the majority of hubbers had an issue with his profile picture, someone would have reported it by now, before you did. They didn't.

I suspect that's the simple observation Tumbleweed was referring to...

I have let go of a lot of things in the time I spent on the hub in the past years.

The pic was offensive to me but I never had the courage to say anything about it.

It was nudity and I would like it if you want to disagree on that.

Since the mods wants to be fair in terms of moderation i plugged up the courage of mentioning it.

If there are rules it should be applied to all without favoritism.

I shaved 4 seconds of my Jonkershoek climb PB by not partaking in this conversation and actually cycling.

(Kidding, my PB's are so slow the garmin shows hours instead of minutes, never mind seconds)

Lighten up guys, there are seriously way worst things happening in the world than being touchy feely about "what i find offensive" also a healthy dose of keep a guard in front of your mouth (keyboard) will also go a heck of a long way, if you feel the urge to take a low blow at someone else, rather ask yourself "am I going to feel better after pressing submit". If so - go for a ride instead or buy a punching bag, you obviously have unresolved issues to sort out.

Happy trials or whatever else it is you ride on.

Personally, if I don't like a thread, I just move on to a different one. I wouldn't demand that the subject is changed on my behalf just because I find it pointless. There are a number of other threads for "chirping chantting on a lighter mood/topic".

Given that this thread attracted more than 200 posts since yesterday I suspect hubbers are not quite ready to agree to disagree and move on...

I don't know about the U word being an issue...the word itself is far too widespread that it can only be contextually offensive, don't think that's the case here at all. It's quite similiar to the word 'Boer' - originally offensive, but it became a term that the the afrikaner 'nation' embraced with pride (going back to Paul Kruger days). It can be used in an offensive context, but the word itself isn't going anywhere.

If it does offend you, then i suggest you never watch a bafana match when Dean Furman is in the starting 11 (the zulu commentators calling him just that).

Watch out for these t-shirtshttp://2.bp.blogspot.com/-KbIAlTTyaaw/UMEH-RJ-lbI/AAAAAAAAALo/GG2VzN11xu4/s1600/IMG_3101.JPG

and definitely don't watch this music video

100% AGREED THATS WHY I SAID ITS SPREAD THROUGHOUT THE HUB, many times like with other topics that i dont like i just move on but as i said earlier different versions of the same fight seem to popping up, and i didnt DEMAND i am merely trying to get the hub back on track :whistling:

"my view" on moderation of thehub has not been put to the test of independent opinion afaik. "my view" is also shared by others. not everyone shares their view publicly. It's like complaints of bad company service or products.

But in your opinion, being popular and in the majority equals being right. If I were to follow that philosophy in the financial markets, I'd have to buy all the popular shares at inflated prices and never make money, or I'd have to argue Zuma is always right.

You infer incorrectly about my opinion being that the majority is always right. In this instance, most of those who were sanctioned last week seemed to accept their punishment without complaint. Another gauge of satisfaction could be the amount of people who said they were tired of threads being started about moderation.

And definitely block your ears when he gets close to they box and they call for him to shoot.

How would you know this?

How can the complain on the hub if they are suspended?

Pay attention. There were two suspensions handed out. Many warnings. Not one of the people who got warnings complained. They knew they were in the wrong. They accepted what came their way.

How to complain while suspended? Via proxy apparenly.
