Shocking incident between van driver and cyclists in Camps Bay

But make another mistake and think I'm not hopeful it will open the eyes and minds of some road users. But given history, its pretty obvious how these things go.

My reference actually had nothing to do with motorists.

This scenario will open the eyes of many a cyclist, and hopefully make them more considerate road users as well as more aware of the fact that they represent an already much hated demographic.

The Cape Argus on Monday tracked down Waggie, who said: “I was driving down Sea Point Beach Road. There were these water sachets and the guys at the back of the van were spraying each other. There were about 30 cyclists taking up one whole lane, and I overtook them. I don’t know if they got wet from the water sachets they were playing with in the back, or if one of the sachets hit them.

“I stopped at a red robot, where the guys would pick up sachets, when this man just started hitting me.

“I didn’t know for what reason.

PPA CONDEMNS CYCLISTS’ BEHAVIOUR

The Pedal Power Association has condemned the behaviour of a group of cyclists on Sunday wherein they assaulted a motorist in Sea Point, in the strongest possible terms and are investigating the incident as a matter of urgency. Once all the facts have been received, disciplinary action will take place

This is by far and away the most disturbing, yet hilarious thread I have read in AGES!

The grammar and spelling has deteriorated to a level below standard 3, the logic is as linear as a bunch of grapes and because it is a serious issue and not a 'which wheel size' debate, people are asking for leniency and less griping?! Holy Moly thie world has gone all topsy Turvy.....

If you condone the behaviour of the cyclists, regardless of how they were provoked, you are in serious need of help. There was at no time a physical threat nor a feeling of impending physical doom.... Wow.... the world continues to become a crazy, unstable, unsuitable place for our youngsters if this sort of thing is acceptable

Nope not family of the driver, but merely cyclists who also use this piece of road to get in some training who now know we will need to be EVEN more vigilant in looking out for motorists who will feel less inclined to show any cyclist any respect and give them some safe space on the road.

We're all ears (eyes actually). You have the stage and your story is.... ??
