Long Wheel Base Posted March 12, 2017 Posted March 12, 2017 I got to the end of the blue route(21km) where they stopped us. The wind was hectic at the start but ridable after that. If given the choice, I would have carried on riding. I have ridden and raced in worse. I am going to scrutinise the T&Cs re just cancelling the event. I can understand them saying they will no longer take responsibility for your health but to physically stop us????? Everyone pushed their bikes thru that point. Thereafter, although windy, it was manageable.  Maybe should have moved the start a bit further after the civic? Altough I think the race committee probably had just too much to deal with. The wind. Wind you cannot control but the authorities have known about the protests for some time and it CANNOT be allowed that a world class event be held hostage by protest action of any kind. I'm really worried that the Argus (ok, ok the CTCT) is going to lose much of its appeal and magic in coming years. Or maybe its just the dissapointment speaking... dev null and Long Wheel Base 2
