With this tool, I remotely just might be able to pull a sub 4 "Argus" out the hat...That would make it a really fun ride.

Ahhh. I remember when there was the same hate for 29ers. Now we all have them.

A few years ago I visit the GRTP outside Sedgefield. I go about my business and have a lekker ride. I get to the parking lot and overhear some riders discussing “the guy on his Spesh and the big German SUV”. “All the gear and no idea” was mentioned. Of course they were talking about me. I never recalled seeing them on the trail or impeding them in any way. I decided to be friendly and ended up chatting with them about their bikes and where they were from. At the end they asked me about my steed and I pointed to my car and bike. Needless to say they were quite embarrassed. Oh, and a quick scan on Strava showed that they were nowhere near as hot as they claimed to be on the trails.

Let the e-biker be. He was out there doing his thing and you were doing yours. If he was tired after what is in your books easy terrain, then its good that he is on his ebike as a normal bike 40km is clearly too demanding for him.

Had a somewhat similar incident with some #enduro bros once. They were resting at the top of the climb before the trail entry. I came up on my epic. We exchanged friendly greetings, and one said we'll see you at the bottom. I just retorted; "I'm not going to wait longer than 3 min at the bottom for you guys." Never saw them again though.

must have been bloody ex. golfers and ex. roadies that have been infiltrating the mtb scene :P

LOL. Same thing happened at hoogekraal enduro when a husband and wife pulled up behind Chris Nixon's daughter. Husband said to wife "let's give this girl some room"

cue laughter.

Yes they can ride were ever they want BUT:

Not at our nrml events. They will ramm you from behind, trying to overtake and take chances just like anybody that comes from behind with speed....

I can imagine a few off them are going to overcook berms and corners just because off the speed they reach so much faster...

Doctor's are already loving the MTB scene, one specialist cracked a joke once as I was waiting in the cafeteria at a hospital. "If I knew I would get so much business from MTB' ers I would have flooded the market with bikes earlier"....didn't hear the rest as he was walking away down the hall.
