I am trying to find a cheapish (well 5k) secondhand fat bike for my dad and for some reason there are non. A while back gumtree etc. was littered with the stuff but now i cannot find any. Well i can, but they are moerse expensive.

Has the craze gone and now they are gathering dust in someone garage. Spoke to my local Titan dealer and he told me that the 2017 range didn't even include whoppers?

Anyone with a lead for a large frame?

Just got mine. Even just on mild offroad it's absolutely brilliant.

There were a lot of cheapies a while back, mostly made by rapid. Fat cat, I think. They were only 5k new so very cheap on the used market. Now, you can't find those anymore really, and it's only the expensive stuff still around.

As a fat guy myself? I really like the fatbiking and looking forward to riding it a lot! Even a touring trip or two is on the cards!

Still have mine. I think the fad of heavy, cheap, alu fatbikes (fat fatties) might be over. Imported myself a Chinese carbon frame, fork, cockpit (800mm bars!) and wheels a few years back. 1x10 drivetrain. With 5" Ground Control tyres, it still weighs less than 13kg. Whilst it might not be the weapon of choice for races, no other bike puts a bigger smile on my face. Better still, it puts a smile on the face of every person who sees me riding it. Or rather it used to - can't ride because of a health issue. When I am well again, it will be the first bike I ride!!! :D

I love bikes. I am a firm believer that you never ever can have enough bikes. But..... For some reason, fat bikes dont appeal to me at all. Personal taste I suppose.

A gravel bike, now that is something I fancy.

Says Mr Munga himself... you gonna need all the speed you can get on those dirt roads.
