A derogatory term for an African man with a large penis. I never knew or heard the term, but this was the explanation written in Ride magazine many years ago!

I actually find the name fitting.

Ummm.

No.

Yster. This is my likely scenario if ever I had the guts to enter. The best I could hope for is to see how far I could get before I get pulled off. These riders are inspiring.

Me too.

Feel exactly the same.

How these people are able to do this really amazes me.

This not my recollection of the origin of the name, I believe it was a play on the word Ironmonger to Ironmunga to just Munga.

Okay. So. It seems you are allowed to go off route and rejoin where you see fit. No penalties incurred by some individuals. This is if the above are the official results. Said individuals may have had issues with their trackers I guess.

Saw Louis Fourie at the airport yesterday. He showed me pics of his backside.

Good Lord above it looks bad. Like in very bad. He used a local ansthetic cream during the ride. So he couldnt feel the damage that he was doing to himself. It is raw meat, I kid you not.

When a went to my doctor pre munga and asked for a prescription for the cream, he refused. He said I must be able to feel what is going on downstairs.I was upset with him. Today I am thankful. When I asked for decent pain pills, he told me that you dont need a prescription for Panado. Im glad that I listened to him.

My ass was wrecked, believe me. But not like his is. He had to sit for the take off and landing. The rest of the time, he stood in the isle.

I tip . Shammy cream by Biogen worked well until a point.

A medic advised from Sutherland to use vaseline..I smeared it in the pad like a teenager smears jam on his sarmie. Thick.

It took me through to the end.

And the race director could also have made changes to the route.... we don't know what really happened there.

Sjoe I almost thought you were going to say a teenager smears something else with vaseline......

Update from Karina herself, she asked me to post this----  She said that her husband surprised her at Sutherland and she rested there for 2 hours, after that she got back on her bike and her husband went back home. She also said that she wanted to go on but the organizers decision was if she didn't finish by 8am at way point 10, she must stop. That she understood, She then asked them if she can go on by herself but the organizers refused.  Karina doesn't have any cleat shoes so she had to ride with what she got witch is her trusted takkies.

It's public roads from Ceres. Surely she could have kept on riding?

I understand they are not obligated to offer support, but they can't really do this can they?

Spend R18k on an entry and don't buy cleated shoes...yoh!

I think she stopped at the Tankwa Padstal.Think. There was carnage from there to ceres. Still moer far to go.

Edit: Just confirmed above as correct

Also sounds dodgy to me

Seems silly to have a name with no meaning

Come Mr Brink

Sort it out
