Humans are weird. Spirituality teaches that we have an angelic soul and an animal soul. We choose which one to activate. Sometimes the 2 battle it out. I read an article today about a little ape monkey that exhibits kindness to other apes with or without chance of reward. Interesting. If we are Created by God then He wants us to be kind ie be angelic. If we are Created by Evolution then we have a choice as in the Survivors Reality TV Shows- to cooperate to win the million and share and activate the angelic soul or try kick all others off the show and be selfish and activate the animal primal soul of survival at all costs.

 

So however you look at it we have choices. I believe and have seen that being nice works as it creates positive karma which comes back to you at some point. The same is true with negativity and karma it all comes back. So maybe the "chop" is a real chop or maybe he just got an SMS that there's fraud on his account and 50k is missing and his head space is just not in a good way to greet anyone. Very difficult to judge people as we are not judges. I'd let this slide and if he doesn't greet again and again then he is a chop less friendly than a tiny ape monkey. I try greet fellow riders/people and will stop to offer help if I can especially if the one in need of help looks to be struggling or is in a remote area.

Not so sure about that man, 9 out of 10 people of the people on the Durbanville trails greet me  (including the marshals) - the problem might lie with you....   

Could well be.  But a "hello!" when I see them, not sure what the issue is.   And strangely, like the marshal dude, has been pointed out to me by enough people that now I notice that.

 

So fortunately I'm not the only asshole for actually greeting people.

 

Maybe they know I dont have a boerewors visa in my passport?

What I really have an issue with is Ninja cyclists that sneak up on you on the trail... I am in my own little happy place riding along enjoying the fresh air and scenery when they announce themselves right behind you scaring the living shyte out of you!!

I have never been a climber (As you would have probably already deduced) Pedaling up is unfortunately the prelude to a good ride down when there are no shuttles. I don't have any KOM's to my name and probably never will. There is a reason I still have a 3X setup. That granny ring wasn't fitted for show and the big ring is more of a bash ring with teeth.

 

Actually perhaps the Ninjas are doing me good. That spike of adrenaline probably helps with the climb....
