I am trying to keep my mind out the gutter but everyone reposting the image above is making it very difficult...

Is that a "Hi" where she is from? I would greet - repeatedly...

Next time I am training in Cape Town, I will make a point of not only greeting other cyclists and runners, I will actually give them hugs as well, and if they are really pretty, even offer to sleep with them.........

R50 says the non greeter was riding a Spaz!!!

Anyhow, this is an issue that I have had, and cried over, many times before. I have made peace with the fact that some people might either not be concentrating, might be busy dying, or might just be a doooooooooosh!!! (you have to say "Dooosh" in the Lucifer way).

In the end, do not let this put you off young padawan, carry on with the way of the light. Greet everyone, and only judge the one's in matching gear and bike

Ya if hey were a Rocky rider they would have challenged you to a race (after you broke your chain of course) ...

oi - freds like these make me glad i'm not a mod...

I reckon the Mods' just sit back during the week, hoping for some excitement on a Friday. Can you imagine how boring it would be moderating a forum without the colourful creations we call "Hubbers".

Essentially an "I'm not your friend, I don't know you. Mind your own business and I'll mind mine. I'm not affecting you in any way, so don't bother me"

Hi Myles ;)

Tallish guy, used to ride a hardtail Rocky Mountain but now rides an "ADRENALINE" chinese blank?

Yeah. That's Eugene.

That must be the same testosterone overdosed chappie who wanted to race me down the Cape Cobra one day. Doesn't do Strava. Said he'd overtake me on the inside. That was back in the day when he still had the Rocky. Strange guy.

I expected that this was going to get some reaction. It's Friday after all... But honestly, I don't really care whether someone greets back. I always say hi and don't expect anything back. But just going past me stranded just shows me that we have become pretty selfish.

Or not !!

You did your part. You greeted him. That should be enough for you. Expecting a greeting back is selfish because it means you greeted him to feel good about yourself.

As for the chain-break, he might not have time to help, he may have to get to work, go feed the kids, or he just doesn't want to and that is also ok.

ACTUALLY, it’s not ok

IMO

Maybe he was just short sighted, that’s about the only excuse for behaving like a TJOP

I've been living in the same house for the last 17 years. There is a guy and his wife that have been living up the road for the same time if not longer that run in the afternoons around the same time I get home from work. I see them most days and we make eye contact. I wave and get the death stare... Now I ignore them. Some people are just unfriendly gits.

According to the trend of the last 4 pages you need to show more empathy before calling them gits and bringing it up on the hub

Unbelievable faux pas for such a senior hubber
