Epic to Rescind Past Drug Rule?

I've seen a couple tweets to the effect that the new Cape Epic owners are to rescind the rule around not allowing riders with drug infringements from entering the event.

Is this true?  Does anyone have anymore clarity on the the exact changes?

He did yes, but he rode as a privateer not competing for any podium position.

Apparently the ban only prevents riders with past infringements from competing for any honors but still allows them to enter as "fun riders" of sorts.

Or so I was brought to understand.

Think David George did the epic a year ago... so that rule sort off did not apply ...

His transgressions fell outside the cut-off date stipulated in the rule.

Think the same applied to Hincapie, he actually participated in a competitive division last year.

I wouldn't be too surprised if this rule is relaxed further in future as in Ironman dopers are typically given 2-4 year bans.

Let the dopers race.

Will be great to see some Mad Max style racing, biting handlebars, biting the oke next to you in an angry rage.

When they finish the stages, hand them a double espresso and a redbull to settle them down a bit.

I see they are sending out letters. Claiming to have had cancellations over december so they can offer limited entries .

My brother too got one, he’s over the epic now!

Life bans only applies to LA. Anyone else can get caught doping, serve a short sentence and come back and then we (some) cheer for them as well

Honestly, he should have just claimed that some EPO, HGH and a few Blood Bags somehow got into his bicarb capsules and we would have avoided all of this nonsense.
