Will be 500ml bottle in rear cage, normal 650ml bottle in front one.

Hope it fits

Was in contact with Dale and he said my Spark would accommodate 2 x 500ml

He sent me a photo with a 650ml front, 500ml rear in exactly the same frame I have, so I trust it will fit.

Any idea on a clamp to use on the rail?

I feel on a 500mm rail, clamps are definitely needed.

Cable ties, hose clamp?

I ask this because the supplier does not have any.

Amongst my drama, I got to fit these on Saturday afternoon. Was a bit of a fiddly operation, but I got it fitted after a bit of trial and error.

Refused to let other people prevent me from doing what I enjoy, so I took it for a test ride on the TGMTB trails yesterday.

Works flawlessly, I'm very impressed.

Tried this thing on my bike and no way will it hold its own long term on two bolts.

My rail does not sit flush because of the frame i have so this weakens the set-up.

Wonderful if you have only one bottle holder and now you have two but I would be very careful of getting this if you are not 100% sure of the fit.  It is just not worth it for an extra bottle if you already have two because the extra weight might bust the system.

Think before you buy.  This is not the magic wand for what it is worth IMHO.

Yeh, i think most bike shops who do have their products, they should definitely have samples, as said it takes a while i took about an hour to get the setup on my bike.

At your LBS and LBS's near you and see if it will work.

Otherwise keep following this thread.

I purchased one and it does not fit my bike and have put it up for sale in the Classifieds for anybody interested.

Cool product!

Things I wonder about:

Can the frame rivnuts handle the loads? (Ive had some rivnut failures before, those rivnuts did not look very robust.)

Secondly, can the bolts handle the load? Some stainless or alu cage bolts are weak, esp those smaller M4 ones.

Im just wondering because if you fit 2x full bottles, plus a tooklit to a point that was designed wo carry less than half the load, something might give?

Surely you can whip up a quick Patran FEA for us and check...or would Dytran be more reliable? Just a first order check, nothing big....  :whistling:

^ Can do, wil cost ZAR, though ... for +/-R30k ;)

Have to lease a software license etc.

(Not Dytran, no need to involve Mr. Euler here)

Surely if so many people are concerned we can crowd-source the funds for the lease...?

Cmon guys, I'll pitch in R5 for such an answer...
