So as a Joburger that still calls it the argus, what are you okes on about?

There are few people whom even the Guptas would consider beyond the pale.

He has threatened to sue everyone who suggests that he is somewhat economical with the truth and may or may not have conspired with some at the top of the PIC to fleece the Government Employees Pension Fund to the tune of a couple of Billion, so I won't say a word.

However, as Iqbal Surve (despite insisting that the titles in the Independent Media stable are editorially independent) "owns" the Argus, which has become a shadow of its former self and a mouthpiece of those who see Pravin Gordhan as Satan's boss, I chose not to associate with him.

Don't know the state of the Star there in Joburg? For some obscure reason we still get the CT/Argus here in the office. It's good for a few seconds of comic relief, they don't even pretend to be newspapers anymore. Nothing more than a propaganda pamphlet promoting siekbal & Chinese interests.

Oh and they have aligned themselves with the Human Rights Cycle Tour 2 weeks after the CTCT

If ever there was a disaster in waiting on our cycling calender it is this event...

Someone should start a thread on that event.

TBH, I can't remember the last time I looked at a newspaper or even which one it was. Good to know. Thanks.

Front page on the Cape Times:

"Surve - I do not dictate what news we report on"

then there's this long standing one

n interviews with journalists and academics published in newspapers, magazines and by the Harvard Business School, Survé has frequently - and publicly - proclaimed a close personal and medical relationship with Mandela. In a “cover personality” interview by Leadership magazine published on July 18 2012, he was asked who had inspired him, and is quoted as saying: “It is almost a cliché by now, but you have to say Mandela, especially due to all the personal interaction I have been blessed to have with him.”

However, journalist Paul Vecchiatto notes that when working for Business Day, he jokingly remarked to Survé: “Just because you shook Mandela’s hand doesn’t mean you took his pulse.” This because, despite a wealth of publicity, there is no available evidence for this claim.

which he is suing R100m for

The Team DJR negotiations about our CTCT strategy has started:

  • Shall we race the field? - No way we're a threat to the sharp end of the race! :D
  • Shall we race friends and foes? - No way we are going to even see the Savages
  • Shall we race each other? - I'll definitely be the loser! They'll drop me on the first steepish bit  :whistling:
  • Shall we start and finish together and just have fun? - It's been a few years since we did that! :)
  • For the first time the whole team is old enough to (legally) drink beer......shall we do one of those?

Really looking forward to it! Nice to still get excited after so many times.

I want to do the CTCT super mellow - I want to eat, drink and be merry.  Race a few sections but try and enjoy it more.  No more racing for 3337th position and endangering my life (and those of others like last year when I dropped my water bottle)  With no racing this year I will get a nice seeding for cruising

My biggest dilemma is what do I ride

if you're really hardcore you start at forries.

If you're even more hardcore, you can fit 2 beers in your water bottle holders on your bike.
