Some new goodies arrived.

i have a friend who is wild about this. once dared him R10 to down a whole bottle of nando's sauce.

Cost me R10.

Cost my other friend R20 to bring the sauce to the braai.

I like these sauces, but not enough to start collecting like this, you're nuts!

sort of related, got a 3kg bag of onions at the shops on a combo veggie special. and started wondering what to do with them.

my version of Judy's pickled onions is now ready. it's a good start. probably too mild.

Hope they are pickling onions

Olive oil?

Nah, that would be too expensive and prove to be a waste ... that batch will be consumed in a week and we don't exactly pour the oil over our food.

Just good old plain canola oil

Haha that's a new concept...eating food you enjoy is a waste. If that's the case i've been a wastrel for years. A look at my waistline tells me that.

Nah .. normal oil works for this mix. If you want the oil to put over whatever you are eating then use olive oil.

For us, and for this chilly mix, olive oil is a wast .... oh, the wife is also not a big fan of olive oil's flavour, so that is another contributing factor.

Canola is not exactly everyones normal oil.I use it for making popcorn and for the odd frying. It is thin and has a nice taste.Prefer olive oil though for peri peri sauce

I made a huge mistake on a recent trip to Mexico. I bought some of this without trying it first. Had I tried it before leaving Mexico, I would have bought 20 bottles! Probably the best commercial sauce I've tried. Mild (for a habanero) but with a strong habanero flavour.

A mate of mine is dabbling in the hot sauce market. Seems to be doing well. He is the owner of Superbike Solutions in Somerset West (strange combination I know…) Im not sure if he has a website up but I know he is active on FB. Juls Craft Sauce.

As promised.

God slayer is insane. 10 quid for 60 mils. Should last me a long long time. Will use it for soups and stews. Lovely stuff but strong.

Chipotle sauce is right up my street. Flavourful and goes with anything.

Havanero is good. Careful with the amount as it kicks nicely.

carribean. Is excellent. Will get more in future.
