How was the conditions yesterday?

Some guys says the weather was good, others say it was tough?

according to the times recorded, it seemed pretty tough.

2020 time compared to 2021? does not reflect that

At the pointy end of a bike race (TT's excepted) the race is for position over the line, not time.

Interesting, winning time about 7 minutes slower than last year, but proportion of sub-3 riders as % of all results very similar to last year.

imo weather conditions were almost as good as last year (which was close to perfect)

Far less people.. fitness way down (no racing etc) .

Even the fact that I was 1 group up with 10 worst Index points show normal "fast guys" did not enter.

Only tough part was putting the bike back in the car...

True. Like the current SA champion. I got to train with him this weekend as he wasn't in CT racing.

with the number of people on ebikes growing, i dont think this will be a long term practical solution.

to have the man power to inspect the bikes whether at registration or on race day is impractical. This goes for all races (MTB and Road)

Also ebikes are starting to look very much like normal bikes so policing it is going to be difficult.

Dont know what the solution would be going forward....

I don't see how you can reign in ebikes without some kind of inspections. So what is the alternative? Do nothing until there is a nasty ebike related crash and they all get banned? Ebikes are not going away. So the ebike riders and ebike industry need to come forward with practical solution and the man power to make it happen.

I am more worried about ones that look like this rather than normal bicycles with discreet "mechanical doping".
