Dlamini likely our best shot at the medals but then also not.

Course looks like a climbers/allrounders course so its in the Bernal/Pidcock/MVDP/WVA/Julien Alaphillipe territory.

I don' thin the men have a hope in hell of a medal but I'd still send at least two for representation and their proffessional development

well it looks like MVDP and Pidcock are focussing on the MTB and Alaphilippe has decide not go I believe as he's getting a child or something. Also it is very close to the Tour

Surely Gibbons will say thanks, but no thanks?

Do not agree, Charlene du Preez, made a lot of sacrifices to earn her spot.

Based herself overseas and travelled on her dime, family assistance and some personal sponsors.

Cycling SA had a selection policy irrespective of national titles with a number of classed events set out that resulted in rankings.

*edit

Also the selection policy from the UCi called for the following

-Hold a validUCIlicense issued by aNational Federationrecognised by the UCI.

-Have at least 10 UCIpoints in the Individual UCI World Ranking of 27 October 2019*

Cycling SA selection seems to be made by a blind man pulling random names out of a hat. Much like it always has been.

I'm sure there's rationale, but it's not apparent to the man on the street. It's like they have no idea at all of how bike racing works. That men's road race course in the real world suits one of the riders in their list. Why are the other names there? National pride? No one here really cares if Impey finishes 27th in the ITT, do they?
