Bahrain Victorious going for the stage win or wanting to jump up the GC ladder after Landa's struggling? Caruso looking potent for the finalé.

The first-category Alto Collado Venta Luisa climb averages a benign 4.4 per cent but stretches for a whopping 29km, topping out at just under 2,000 metres.

Favoured by a tailwind in the barren and hot Sierras , Caruso stayed away. What a ride! He's becoming a bit of a breakaway specialist, the Italian. Only recently took his first Worldtour win. With his team leader struggling after his comeback from injury, this will be an important win for the (now consistent) team on Meridas.

"I didn't expect the gap would get bigger km by km. It's still unbelievable what I did.

It was an amazing feeling and a repeat of this feeling after the Giro is incredible for me."

Very nice. Moved up from 15th to 13th in GC. I think a top 10 is possible for him, pending some workhorses dropping down the order.

Can't stand it when some ex dopers are celebrated.

Some or all? Or does it depend on who?

It's been 10-11 years since his sanction and what?13 or 4 years since the offence?

Personally, for me, these guys in their 30's (and 40's) who doped 10+ years ago but are now riding faster 'clean' while being older just shows that the sport has found other ways to enhance performance.

Whether that is through stricter, more controlled physical and mental programmes, diet or different PEDS or a combination? I just don't think the wawa pillows and cloudy joy of clean racing fairyland exists.

The racing is currently super exciting, so I don't care either.

I'm here for the entertainment and I'm pretty sure all the action stars I watched going oof, boof, biff, crack, boom, bang were all juiced. The entertainment factor was still epic.

This climb is Spain’s version of Ventoux - there is nothing growing on it and it was insanely hot.

On this forum, it is the rule to hate Valverde, but this doper gets so much praise it's sickening.

It's either hate them at Lance level or give them a free pass. This wishy-washy soft cock approach to some is what grates by biscuit.

BTW, the answer is SARMS...
