I see the swartberg gran fondo is weekend before ctct next year. What a tough life! Two weekends in a row riding events in gorgeous places.

Let's hope we're between waves and we've vaccinated enough people to keep this disease mild and minor.

Was super excited to get the email yesterday! Finally! Think I've been entered since 2019 if I'm not mistaken. In-laws have a house in Prince Albert, so hoping it's available that weekend. Ideally I'd like to stay there the week after and then it's a short hop down to CT. Doubt I'd get a pink slip for that though. #Dreaming

I'm not done with that place yet. Next time I'll rent a campervan tho and we'll squat around a bit.

All you are doing now is making me green with envy. I was at my house i am building near paarl yesterday and i can tell you this route has been on my mind as one of the bucket list ticks i need to ride when i am local. That and Du Toitskloof, Franschhoek pass and Helshoogte plus Swartberg. the list is long and growing...

What's the requirements to start in $ (Elite) group?😅😂...one day...

Racing as much as you can before CTCT. Few road races that count towards your seeding will naturally help your start group. The closer you finish to the winner of each race's time, the better your seeding will be. But it's very unlikely you'll just waltz into $ batch without any racing results behind your name.

Good luck!

current on a +-10 index for seeding so was just wondering when you then qualify

+-10 should get you in. Age is a factor too, if you are +40 then you need to hold an Elite Racing License.

Never though 10 would be good enough to get you into $, always thought you had to be at least a 5 but I guess you would know better than me 😉

Edit

(Last year I had a seeding index of 1 (thanks to flawed seeding calc methodology rather than actual cycling ability) but wasn't seeded in $.

previously with a index of +-8, with an elite racing license (for XCO). I've never seen any $ in my racepack
