Was at Midas yesterday. R83.00 for 750ml is this the correct price. Read that it was on sale. Cheers

Sale is for the 500ml spray bottle + free 500ml flip top bottle for R35. My Midas had run out of stock of the free 500ml bottle, so gave it a skip.

Morning

Complete newbie, spending my Saturday morning researching bike care. So can you use this for the chain and cogs? Bicycle shop recommended paraffin and then lube after drying.

TIA

Get a new bike shop .... šŸ˜³

Ā

LOTS of products out there.Ā  The most important factor - the user.

Ā

Over use of a degreaser can be very harmfull.

Paraffin is correct ! Been Riding Bikes for 55 Years and Never Used Degreasers .

Except on the Braai.

Ā

30 years ago we all used parafin ...

Ā

Better options available today .... IF used correctly ....

Ā

Over use of degreaser certainly can be a costly affair ....

Ā

Again, 30 years ago most of us used parafin as a cleaner.

Ā

At the time many even added a cup to a bucket of water when washing the car.

Ā

It certainly was an all purpose product.

Ā

NO, it is not a bad product.

Ā

Ā

That said, over the years many new products have been developed ... some better than others.

Ā

Currently products such as those from NamGear is used by many good bike shops.

I for one am following this thread to hear the medium and longer term feedback from DnD and similar experienced people on the Blixem product.

I see you stay in Dundee...I did a few years a DHS back in the 80s....(I stayed in Dannhauser)

Isnt there a co-op there? I use a cheap red water soluble degreaser from them...Its around R120 a liter and you just dilute it...works great.
