Hey everyone, one of the bolts that supports the drinks cage looks like it's stripped and I can no longer get any meaningful purchase with the allen key in order to loosen it.

Any advice?

I now take these things to my local shop to deal with.

Last year a pivot bolt stripped. Normally this is an easy fix. Drill a hole into the bolt and use an easy-out to extract the bolt.

In this case the drill bit broke and went straight through my finger. Not my finest hour.

I had the head of one of those bolts snap of.

Tried the easy-out like Stead Spin but ended up turning the mount loose.

So ended up at LBS to remove and install new mount.

You could try to use a slightly larger screwdriver/torx etc forced in to get purchase ...

Use a Dremel tool to cut a slot in the bolt head then you can use a flat screwdriver to remove it.

^this would be my first attempt, except with a hacksaw cos it's cordless.

I once stripped the bolt in the headset on my mountain bike. 😠

Took a hammer to a flat head screwdriver and managed to unscrew the bolt. 😂

I am not sure if I recommend this approach, but it worked for me.

The bigger the problem the bigger the hammer .... 😂🙈

Surprisingly effective, but you should probably use a punch rather than a screwdriver...

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. This was the one I ended up going with.

Reviving this thread a bit.

Help me save my hub please. Stripped brake rotor bolts. Tried all possible avenues I could Google, even cut a slit into the bolt head and tried using a flat. Bolts are made of cheese it seemed and installer of these bolts used all the loctite available.

Ended up having to grind it flat so that the rotor could come off. Now the question, how to remove the rest of the bolt?
