Being Friday and if you really want to open a can of worms, how many adds are there on the hub that say brand new, but it is a 2018/19/20 model?

Brand New is 2022.

Yes it might be old stock, never sold, never used - but it is not brand new.

It like walking into a car dealership and asking to buy a brand new car and the salesmen says we have this beauty of a 2019 model never sold before?

I disagree here.

To me brand new means unopened in the box, never been used. Date of manufacturer is irrelevant.

That is still brand new and unused though. Not the latest model but still new.

Like new old stock.

As other have already said, date of manufacture does not determine if its new or not.

We just launched the new Civic, as in today. But these vehicles have been in the country since end of feb, that means they were built in 2021. Would you consider them NOT new then ?

Yes, they are old and outdated, and I demand a 75% discount on one....

If it smells like a new car, it must be a new car

Is this thread about a misleading Advert?

just asking because there is a double D in the thread title, that's misleading. Talking about double D when it is just one is also misleading, wonderbra used to do that.

you had to add that

I did, but the conversation came to a halt when he would not refund me the fork until he has it in his hands and inspected it for damages... He also told me I'm lucky that he is willing to refund me without shipping charges.

Just going to buy the lockout lever and write a negative review, Thanks for the replies.

If you buy some something from Takealot or Amazon you have to return it before they refund you. The seller is right to ask you to return it before refunding.

Completely off topic, but it is so good to see someone else bringing a new sedan to the market.

I just wish there was a bigger range and a cheaper model on offer.

Sedans no longer sell well on SA. People will rather take an SUV over a sedan.
world wide the Hyundai Elantra was Hyundais best selling car, they did not sell in SA, Honda SA knows the previous generation civic did not sell well, that’s why they have only brought in 50 of the new one and only on 1 spec.

Market appeal is good, because on paper they offer great value. Time will tell about reliability. Their older stuff wasn’t great reliability wise.
a lot of the P Series buyers are selling and going back to established brands, the p series is not proving to be what it was cracked up to be.
