Where has your bike taken you today?

You need to tell that story a little differently.......are you sure it wasn't right on your tail? Did you look carefully behind you? Do you remember the smell of its breath now? Have you checked the back of your shirt for claw marks yet?.........Don't let the facts get in the way of a good story!

Nope, Promise you. True Story. . Us mtb'ers will never lie... :)

Here is a pic they took of the Lioness that are in those Orchards. Just a few hours before we went pass there.

We are now told not to ride there again until further notice.....

I assume they broke through the Kruger fence? Hope they get returned safely before they help themselves to a cyclist!

There are so many holes in, and under the fence because of warthogs, they struggle to close every single one.

I've heard this morning she's got cubs somewhere, but cant seem to find them.

That could very likely be the reason she is away from the pride. They keep their cubs hidden away and removed from the pride for the first while until they are sturdy enough.

I know a farmer in the Eastern Cape who introduced warthog to his property and now wants to kick himself because his fences have gone like sieves. He's been trying (unsuccessfully) for a few years to exterminate them. Even if he succeeds to get rid of them all, they are now on all the adjacent land too and just dig back into his place.

I like it because he is happy to give them away. And the young ones taste so good.

Woke up to this .. Thought no ride ..post-44041-0-10587400-1455440159_thumb.jpeg

Decided stuff it.. Pumped it up hard and went for a urban mtb adventure.

Get out of my driveway, no back brake, figure I'll chance it, find some up hills only to remember, what goes up ....

You know you're in the East Rand when....

No relieving yourself in public signs

Rode alongside the Krugar-Park Fence for about 15km, and almost saw all of the Big 5. Just needed the Leopard.

But as we were riding on the citrus farm, the farmer's wife and her BFF stopped us, and said there's a huge Male lion roaming this area, they saw him a couple of hours ago.

But we only heard the words "Lion and Roaming". And I knew that's my queue to put some distance between me and that Lion that's somewhere in the Orchards, waiting for its next meal. I kept on getting "The Ghost and the Darkness" Flashbacks  ...

She told us, that a couple of weeks ago they did Manage to catch both the lion and the lioness, but they just keep on coming back.

But hey, who said Mountain Biking isn't fun....

I won't bore u with pictures of Swiss cows

It'll make for a very intense sprint interval if Poomba wakes up, hungry

It's our BigDayOut - our yearly attempt to ride the furthest we've ever been, on one of those perfect Cape summer's days. Takes us a year to forget the ordeal before trying it all again ;)
