My beautiful country 💟

I think we love this place equally. The view, Northwards from where the road crosses the top of Faircape, inspired me enough to make a quick sketch when I got home. Next time I'll make one looking South to include Table Mountain

Gotta tell you folks, all these “big sky” pics loaded recently make my heart lus. We just don’t get that here in what has been a very grey and miserable winter.

I lived in the UK for 8 years before coming back. While the winters were pretty miserable one of my big regrets was not popping over to belgium to watch cyclocross (on TV it looks like a great vibe) and some of the cobbled races. So if you manage to do that, you will be making at least one person from big sky country a little bit jealous.

I am Belgian so go across 4 or 5 times a year. My cousins are all into cycling so they take me to velodromes mostly. Last one we went to is the eddy merkx ( named ) in Gent. Never been to a cyclocross event but next time it’s on my list.

This has been the greyest wettest winter I have been through and this is my 10th winter in the uk. Saw the sun today and just stood on the garden like a sunflower. You will know what I mean.

Ah right! Well I hope you enjoy it. I recently read a book called "The best, the emperor and the milkman: a bone-shaking tour through cyclings flemish heartlands" - basically an englishman touring flanders watching as many classics as he can, fueled on beer and fries/frites. Sounded like fun, at least for a day or two.
