We visited my folkes in Gansbaai for the weekend and I went out for a long solo ride yesterday. Was lucky enough to catch the sunrise at the perfect moment on the bridge at Uilkraalsmond.attachicon.gifIMG_20150905_182046.jpgFound these old feul pumps in a back street of the little town of Elim.attachicon.gifIMG_20150905_182332.jpgAnd rode on some beautifull country lane through the local farmlands.attachicon.gifIMG_20150905_182828.jpg

Commuted via the mountain, To Work & Back in preparation for To Hell & Back!

All you mountain bikers who ride on Table mountain, enter this telephone number on your cellphones! You never know when you might need it to save our trails! (My good deed for this Wednesday.)

So yesterday had the pleasure and pain of Mont Ventoux as part of a weeks relaxed cycling holiday in France, via the Bedoin route 22kms at an average of 9% non stop is a serious workout on the legs!... what was more tiring was coming down the other side watching my brake pads diappear as you go from 70+kms to almost a standstill to make the hairpin corners! Great experience!... as is all the tour cycling in this part of France :)

what time, when and where i may have passed you!

Ride from Claremont to Observatory and back, usually along the Liesbeeck River trail, but to add a bit of distance and elevation, I go up through Bishopscourt (great quiet road climb), down past Kirstenbosch and along the M3 cycle track (a good rest) , up to Rhodes Memorial (kill yourself hill) and down again. If I have time, sometimes higher.

You probably passed me (at least a couple of rabbits flew past while I was climbing the Rhodes Mem single track) because I'm slow and look like a tortoise with the camo backpack and all...... :)
