Had the day off, waited for the wife to get home from work, we left just after two for a low intensity ride. About halfway through, i notice heavy cloud has rolled in, and a thunderstorm was imminent. It was damn hot, and i thought a couple of raindrops will not go amiss.

15 mins later we were being pelted with rain, wind pumping. Rode through some serious thunder, had lighting make ground contact quite close to us on some of the higher areas we were riding past. Kept going, had some reprieve,e but it was pretty much wet and wild all the way home. Pretty damn nice ride despite the elements.

The overexposed pic does not do the dirtiness of my bike justice.

You don't know how apt that is. There's a sign at big red barn - it says watch out for the tree - gets me looking for the tree all the time - I never learn.

On the up side, if you can hit a tree, you can definitely hit the broad side of a barn... ;) haha

Chappies + wind = burning legs. Still, what a awesome ride.

Now I have FOMO.

You were braver than us. We stayed in bed, by the time we got to gym at 9 then rain was coming down sideways!

Hero@Hobby Park this morning....

a very rare occasion being photographed and not being the photographer....

Darren's done worked so much magic here

My literal back yard and it's been ok to ride... he's made it amazing to ride.

The blue route  ...it's only 6 odd kms, but there's more fun in those 6 than in many other places' 20!

pictures do it no justice... you must just ride it!!

pics from the the top of the ridge
