X1 36t oval

Sjo luckily the States (Freestate) and Karoo is relatively speaking flat for the start and basically, what 3/4 of the way? Are you going to swop it for a smaller ring if necessary later on in the race?

Ja I might swop it at the end. As you said it is flat here. Mike Woolnough klapped it all the way on a 36t ring last year. But, that is Mike Woolnough endurance machine not Vetseun from Bloem eating machine.

Havent weighed it yet Gummi.

A mate is also doing Munga.

We did a 100km a week ago. Fully laden his bike is about 25kg (I guess)

He is moer fast on the down hills.

After the ride he said he needs to rethink his packing strategy.

That big ball bag sways quite a lot and screws with the weight distribution of the bike.

I've got a 150km planned for the weekend of the 21st (2500m ascent) so we can test the new packing strategy.

Vetseun you are going to be just as fast on the downhills with that 36t. [emoji197] Cheetah fast. What size cassette do you have on?
