In service to the mountain. Whilst trail building in Tokai. Shaping a tree stump to form part of the beginning of an off camber corner.

Swinging an axe on the horizontal (cutting back what I had chipped off on the vertical) and on the swing in, my knee hyper-extended inwards. Felt and heard the ligaments and meniscus crossing and popping. Caught it in time to pop it back into place with a counter rotation that sounded like a crash-change gone wrong.

3 pops. Pop pop pop. Then the return.

That was 30 to 45 mins into the build. I still had to walk back UP the trail to get to the cars.

Eina does not begin to describe it.

Shame man thats terrible, hope it gets better soon and you can hit those trails again, Hope your medical aid was up to date,,, I'm sure the bills are almost as painful as the knee,

no pics, but a nice few runs of the new helderberg DH track until my arm/shoulder konked out. What a fun track!

ok, one or two pics ;)

Top half of the track. Yellow arrow is the start. Bit of a push to get there, and the track up there is a bit narrow, and got beaten up and blown out in a hurry. But the same for everyone and hardly worth complaining about considering the ensueing fun.

Yellow dots are the track, more or less, mostly less ;)

Lucky you could get a brace until someone checks it out. Let me know your whereabouts tomorrow, we could even postpone.
