I have contacted him privately asking to remove the rating, but instead he replied with a sarcastic GIF, that is why I created a forum to receive some advice.

Jeez this guy. Another lie.  I sent the Gif after you told me you created this thread.  You're just discrediting yourself at this point. Screenshot_20260317_090059_WhatsApp.jpg.98a4dea5cbe71f7f70d9cfa1dee32f5c.jpg

Maybe you should have called the next day when you were in a better frame of mind. Without the comments that you had a drink or two, the seller might have taken it more seriously.

Aah bud guess you didn't see my first post here.  I did message him the next day.  He then said he couldn't talk at work and promised he would send me the info at 1330 when he got home.

I waited till after 2 then sent him a message asking to chat when free. Then called him closer to 4.

This screenshot was all the next day:

Errm the seller is the one who created this thread. And then attempted to discredit me with his fabrications.

You think I'm just going to let that happen?

It's not worth the aggravation, bud. As a seasoned hubber of 14 years and a good reputation, you can let it go. Obviously, the seller is a newbie dealer who is buying and selling on the hub for profit but is not registered as a dealer and is flying under the radar. However, I’m sure the admin will address this sooner or later.

It's a squabble over a "dibs" that wasn't actioned.

Let it happen, move on.

You clearly did the correct and mature thing in not dealing with a rude and belligerent hubber,I have no time for alcohol abusers as they'd rather blame the alcohol or other people than themselves, well done on selling your item to a more deserving person.

How I see it, you do business in 1 of two ways on the hub. You do it by whoever contacts you first and they get preference or you sell it to whoever coughs up the money first. It does seem like the seller hasn't decided yet how he wants to do business, communicates like he does business by handshakes and trust but as soon as he sees the money all of that falls by the wayside. Commit to how you want to do business and communicate that to the buyers. Business is business, maar wees lekker

That is your right, you can choose to who you want to sell to. But if that is your standard then just communicate clearly, don't string the potential buyer along and then blank him and move on to the more "deserving" buyer with sober habits?

For me the bad/lack of communication here is the bigger issue here.

Options with deadlines are important.

As mentioned multiple times on this mildly entertaining thread, communication is key.

Give options according to responses, but then communicate by providing deadline - "If buyer A does not pay by x amount of time, I'm moving on to Buyer B"
