Because in the UK you need a winter bike and defintely someting with disk brakes to deal with the wet weather. It is dangerous otherwise. Thats what I told my wife😁
Its a really good deal and I will never get it at that price again. The CAAD is getting old and I need a permanent bike on the trainer. Thats what I told myself😁

Promptly turn left and rode by myself for the rest of the hour.
Yes. You have no drafting effect when on a TT Bike.

I use the Varia with my Edge 530 as well as my Wahoo Roam. The warnings on both units are pretty loud. So much so that some of the other riders in the group also rely on it as a warning for cars behind us. Kudos to Garmin for making the software available to other manufaturers to integrate with their head units.

It is my first winter on this muddy island🏝️. Base layers, shoe covers and winter gloves makes the rides more pleasant. It also helps if there is a group waiting for you. Its very tempting to stay in bed on these cold mornings.
I moved to the UK in April. Booked on Emirates as they seem to give the best allowance on weight. I paid for an extra 23kg's and packed my bike shoes, helmet and a few other things in the bike box. Get a hard case box like scicon if you can. I had my box wrapped at OR Tambo but it still got badly scratched. I arrived at Manchester and went through without any questions asked. I shipped my other bikes, trainer and tools with our home contents and it arrived in the UK last week. I was told that it can take up to 8 weeks before it gets delivered to my house.

@Spafsack, I just have the standard Giant flat pedals, I think they were about R750 from Olympic Cycles. They do the job.
The CAAD 8 is probably one of the lightest alu frames that you can get. I bought one when I got back into cycling, and then upgraded parts I bought on the Hub. 10 Speed 105 and Mavic wheels. It is also a very good bike for long distances. When I upgraded bikes this one went onto the trainer. I'm sure you can find the parts you need in the classifieds and have your bike ready in time.
Been using my Wahoo ELEMNT for 3 years without any issues. Everything just integrates seamlessly, power meter, HRM, cadence sensor. Setup from your phone is very easy. My only issue ever was that my Garmin Varia rear radar couldn't connect, so I had to use the separate display unit. But when Garmin increased the Varia's compatibility to work with other devices it solved that problem and i can now get all the information on the display of my Wahoo. It even beeps when detecting a car. I have just ordered the new Varia radar but I am sticking with my ELEMNT.
You can also use zwiftalizer.com to analyse your ride and any connectivity issues.
Go to the site, import the log file from your ride, and you will get a breakdown on network errors, connection attempts etc.
