  1. Double posting here just in case anyone on this thread can help: I'm looking for a decent 26" rim brake/V-brake wheelset, preferably with Shimano hubs with dust seals like the LX/XT/XTR hubs Alternatively also looking for decent loose 26" rim brake/V-brake compatible rims and hubs. I have a really nice vintage Kona that I have built up but the wheelset is toast and rim brake 26" wheels are not easy to find Seems if you don't hammer it using some disc specific rims will work but I'd prefer not to go that route.

  3. Got a scammer replying to an ad I posted on Gumtree, Truecaller picks their number 0738835633 up as "Classifieds Scammer Natasha" so they have obviously been scamming with that number for a while. "[17:31, 20/11/2021] +27 73 883 5633: I wish to let you know that I'm satisfied with the conditions and i will like to inform you that am buying the item for my Family [17:31, 20/11/2021] +27 73 883 5633: so i will be the one responsible for the pick up and delivery stuff.kindly get back to me with your full name and address so that i can forward it to the pick up agent to calculate the pick up fees for me."
  4. You can't go wrong with these, win all the way
  5. What crank is it?
  6. Both arms... tell us more? ????
  7. @Danger Dassie please can you post a link to the vintage/retro bike page on FB?
  8. I want to be able to just run/ride wherever my heart leads me and then get an alert when I reach a preset distance. Needs to be an android app.
  9. Perhaps it's because the users aren't the core business any longer?
  10. We should just start a new forum for the chin waggers to get back to doing what they do best.... shooting the breeze, talking loads of bs and having a laugh along the long?! Bikehub is the most chilled of the bunch if you consider 4x4forum/MyBB/Bikehub as 3 of the most popular forums amongst your typical Bikehub adherent. Mybb is interesting but generally a different breed of person, things get rof there, anything goes. 4x4forum is great but pretty conservative and Bikehub was the most balanced and easy going from my experience. I still ride my bike but I'm past all the upgrading and hunting for the holy grail, so talking bikes is not as fun as it used to be, it will be sad to miss all you guys and girls with the off topic chat now gone
  11. @Nick Is it official, Tapatalk is never returning to Bikehub?
  12. That page is a bit faulty, if you click on anything from Overview to Password it takes you to https://bikehub.co.za/classifieds/settings and then there's no way back to https://forum.bikehub.co.za/settings/links/, even if you push your browser back button it will only go back to https://bikehub.co.za/classifieds/settings Actually without your link to https://forum.bikehub.co.za/settings/links/ I couldn't find those settings anywhere.
  13. Am I the only one getting random email notification on threads that I'm following(which is in essence every thread I'm following) but selected no email notification?
  14. Are we going to be getting email updates of all threads we have subscribed to randomly? I always select no email updates but I've suddenly been getting dozens today.
  15. Whereabouts in Wynberg?
  16. Doing that really grates me, slimeball behaviour of the highest order, despite being able to get good deals if you haggle it just feels so wrong dealing with people like that. I have spoken to people who have gone in without knowing about this special price bs and they got taken to the cleaners.
  17. Probably some kind of alloy not too many degrees from pewter, just about impossible to repair and make the screw full load bearing again. I'd glue the whole lot into place with Pratley steel, on the shaft and them put some into the screw how and tighten the screw with as much load as it can take currently. Or another option is perhaps using a pipe clamp to replace the clamping force of the screw, make 2 cut outs in the collar to allow it to be squeezed and compares onto the shaft.
  18. First I've heard of that, does that mean they are only supposed to be used in concrete?
  19. Looks the same as Wish or any ebay seller, just pay with PayPal so you can easily get a refund if it never arrives. I'm assuming they ship with the Post Office? What are Post office delivery times like currently for Chinese orders?
  20. Nice, the handles on the Vessel screwdrivers are great. How much are they on Amazon and do you have a link to it if possible?
  21. To show I'm not a lazy tyre kicker and to get first dibs it's good to ask pertinent questions when asking "Is it still available". And when people ask "Is it still available" I have programmed a shortcut into my phone's dictionary so if I type "ys" I get the option to auto type Hi, yes it is still available. Easy and possible on any smartphone, I use the Google Gboard keyboard.
