Doesnā€™t matter any longer. Weā€™ve had heat, rain, cold, wind and now no burgers. As long as thereā€™s beer at the finish all will be ok.Ā

Shame. I hope she doesn't have serious concussion. I had it and it is not fun. Post concussion symptoms prevail 6 years later in my case. The other injuries heal up over time but head injuries are nasty.

Head injuries are impossible to fully gauge, toppie had a plane accident 25 years ago months in a comma, came out a completely different man gradually built himself up to ā€œnormal ā€œ function over 3 years

died 2 years ago from vicious seizures which he never suffered from ever,

    best saying I heard 2$ helmet for a 2$head

take care of concussion and get them checked out ALWAYS

Iā€™m out my ribs are killing me my partner says he is out ,, so who wants an entry(2) that canā€™t afford the race, Ā as I sure as hell canā€™t do it would rather pay it forward than sell it, for someone who canā€™t afford it

    Ā

    PS

thanks to Tyrone who helped me at my accident scene if he is a Hubber, all healed up but the RIBS are a hard NOĀ

MUCH APPRECIATED FOR YOUR ASSISTANCE I WILL PAY IT FORWARDšŸ‘ŠšŸ»šŸ‘ŠšŸ»šŸ‘ŠšŸ»

Strava shows "walking" as my primary sporting activity.Ā  Now on 440 days of consecutively reaching my steps for the day.Ā  Normal working days this is easy.Ā  Lot more fun to get the steps in after a 100+km cycle ride .... A couple of late night walks around the block to get the steps done for the day.

    Ā

As for my cycling stats for 2021 -

    3065 km

    43 597 m elevation

    Ā

    Ā

As I said previously, hardly one trip for @copperheadĀ Ā :P

    Ā

2019 was my first "proper" year of cycling, with barely 1 000 km.Ā  2020 my total was just over 2 00 0km, so I am a happy camper with my progress.

  8. My ex worker/mateĀ

worked for me a few years ago

    got covid minimal side effects

40 something healthy, does not drink, thin as vaaaaark, he does smoke zero chronicsĀ

    very ā€œhealthyā€

saw a X-ray of his lungs(looks worse than lance Armstrong that timeā€on life support

dr says prepare ,,, septicemia setting in to lungs

    not goodĀ

    Ā

I know no covid talk or conspiracy,,, all Iā€™m saying is as a relatively ā€œinactive ā€œ person that he is,Ā

I would strongly suggest going with EASY EASY VAAAARKING EASY back into training

    Ā

forget ANYTHING close to endurance UNLESS U HAVE A V12 man as you mate/speed dial

you are being reckless to say the least

Had a lekka laugh this morning ....

    Ā

    Boys will be boys ....

    Ā

Today I was the carrot on the ebike, being chased by a younger rider ....

    Ā

Entering the gate from D'Aria into Bloemendal another rider was riding up the hill at Bloemendal, I closed the gate and started up the hill.

    Ā

Should add that I had set personal bests all along the segments through Protea corridor .... just one of those nice days in the saddle.

    Ā

So it did not take long for me to catch the gent up the hill.Ā  I slowed a bit, and moved past when the road widened.Ā

    Ā

He glanced over : "That's cheating"

    Ā

I looked back and said: "I'll trade my motor for your good knees"Ā  He just laughed, got out the saddle, and gave it few hard kicks and matched my speed UP that hill ....

    Ā

We were pushing 12 to 13 km/h while the gradient was playing between 7 and 10 %.

    Ā

Neither of us giving an inch, it was a lekker HARD ride up that hill !!Ā Ā

    Ā

At least he gets to tell his friends that he was NOT dropped by an ebike ....Ā :whistling:

Iā€™ll trade my motor for good knees, pricelessĀ

    Ā

trying to explain that to a young onešŸ¤£šŸ¤£šŸ¤£

    Ā

    Ā

NO .... IT IS NOT SAFE.

    Ā

    Ā

You can draw a radius of a few kilometers around that .... still not safe

    Ā

    Ā

Best to drive to one of three spots:

    1. Contermanskloof

    2. Bloemendal

    3. Hoogekraal

    Ā

All three have nice parking, and day passes.

    Ā

The first two have coffe shop facilities.

    ThanksĀ

so if I get my wife to drive me to tygerberg??
